At a September 26th symposium in the Tunnel Theatre of Boeing's Everett Washington manufacturing facility, Empire West's Engineering Manager, Greg Reynolds, and company president, Ed Davis, gave a detailed presentation to 75 Boeing manufacturing and purchasing engineers on the potential benefits of custom thermoforming in aerospace applications. Addressing Boeing's stated goals of reducing weight, lead-time and cost, the Empire West team structured their presentation around the highly regarded Thermoforming Tech Academy reference section of their website.

"The Boeing engineers asked great questions," said Reynolds of the lively Q & A session that followed the presentation. "It was clear that for many of them, thermoforming is an unfamiliar technology - yet one that offers good potential solutions to many of their engineering challenges."

"Being asked to present by Boeing was an honor," observed Davis. "I came away feeling like we really opened some doors for custom thermoforming, and hopefully for Empire West."
