Empire West Inc. Company Information:
Company News > Production Capacity Increases

In a move designed to keep pace with ever increasing customer demand, Empire West Plastics has just purchased two additional thermoforming machines, and its third high capacity Thermwood 5-axis NC router. "We don't just supply plastic parts," said Ed Davis, company president, "we supply service, and a key component of service in today's high pressure economy is lead-time. These new acquisitions will allow us to stay ahead of customer need, while still providing the best quality plastic parts in the industry."

Thermoforming Machine

In addition to providing increased production capacity, these recent thermoformer purchases are noteworthy because they introduce new technology to a company that prides itself on innovation. "Our new single station former is the company's first gas catalytic machine" Davis explained, "and we are excited about the energy saving opportunities this presents."

The company has also added its first three-station thermoformer. "We've always been aware of the potential benefits, and drawbacks, of three station forming," Davis said. "The machines take up a lot of real estate, and they add a whole new layer of complexity - but the benefits of reduced cycle time and improved part stability, particularly with polyethylene, are proving to be more than worth it."

5-Axis Thermwood Router

Continuing its drive towards high capacity 5-axis trim, the third acquisition in this latest round of purchases is a new, double-table, extended gantry 5-axis Thermwood router. "We became believers about 5-axis trim the minute we put our first Thermwood into production," Davis recalls, "and I'm sure this latest purchase won't be our last."
